A legacy of innovation and excellence for over 230 years.
What to Expect – our summer program gives you the opportunity to do everything our attorneys do. Through substantive work assignments, internal and external trainings, and planned social events, you will experience life as a Cadwalader attorney and get to know what we do and who we are.
Providing summer associates with an immersive and substantive experience is at the core of our summer program. Our assignment system allows summer associates to work on assignments both from a centralized database and directly from attorneys. Assignment managers will filter work and help ensure you receive the types of assignments that interest you. Each summer associate will work on at least one pro bono matter during the summer.

We believe professional development starts on day one. Summer associates participate in a variety of in-house trainings and consultant-led workshops aimed at enhancing communication, technology, negotiation and networking skills. You will get to know our practice groups through substantive trainings and hands-on assignments, including conference calls, court visits, and client meetings.

We recognize the importance of mentors for our summer associates. Each summer is assigned a partner mentor and an associate mentor. Your mentors will help acclimate you to the firm throughout the summer by providing guidance and training as you work alongside our attorneys on client matters.

Get to know us outside of the office at the social events planned throughout the summer. Events include baseball games, cooking classes, bowling nights, cocktail parties and more!
